I ask for balancing and healing Reiki energy to enter each necklace. May your necklace be a reminder of the divine light (nvwati-the good medicine) within us all. We carry the potential to be conduits for healing, universal love, compassion and peace. This necklace is unique, created just for you. It might not be exactly what you pictured in your mind’s eye when you ordered it, or what you would purchase for yourself, if it‘s a gift. Before making a judgment, try wearing it during the day for a week to see how it feels. If it doesn’t feel right to you, then you may return it for one revision, and I will re-create a necklace for you, for the cost of shipping and any additional materials, if needed. Once I created a necklace for an acquaintance that I had spoken to rather briefly. She liked it, but disliked the silver flying falcons in the design--they made no sense to her. I told her to see how it felt for a few days--she called me back at the end of the week and told me that she had met her soul-mate--and his name in Dutch was falcon. I think they are married now. So, you never know...intuition works. Your necklace was created with the general intention of fostering good energy, balance, healing and protection. It also has specific special qualities, and energies that relate directly to your needs. These may be aspects that we have discussed beforehand, or they may have come up in the creation of the necklace. Some of these energies are, by nature, ineffable. I work intuitively, and often don't have a concrete or logical reason for choosing certain stones, animals or symbols. (The Testimonials page is full of substantive evidence that my 'method' is effective.) Often the necklace I make doesn’t make sense according to the generally known qualities of stones…but they seem right for your unique energies, harmonizing with all of the unknowable variables that affect your energy field. There is plenty of information ‘out there’ regarding the traditional uses of stones and their metaphysical qualities. The books by “Melody” (no last name given) are particularly comprehensive and intelligently written. Some of the texts are very “woo woo” or New-Agey…Others are prescriptive. (Citrine for prosperity, hematite for protection, and so on...) I don’t use any of them in the process of creating the necklaces, and that sets me apart from most other energy workers creating jewelry. My work is truly customized to each individual client. I do this because each stone is different energetically, just as each person is different energetically. All is dynamic, fluid, in a state of change. So rather than trying to pin something down to a specific defined set of parameters—I try to be sensitive to what is needed to help balance the energy(s) of your life at this time. Often people report that immediately after receiving the necklace, they feel a sense of calm. Sometimes the email exchange in itself, before the necklace is created, has a balancing effect, helping people to connect with their higher selves, and bringing old, negative energy patterns to the surface, where they can be released, opening one to an experience of greater wholeness. I attribute this to several factors: since time does not actually exist, the necklace is already working, I send a little Reiki along with all my communications, and having a necklace made for yourself, a Spirit piece, can, in itself, be a step towards opening to greater human potential. The same reasoning I apply to the use of stones also applies to the use of the symbols and totem animals in your necklace. You may have had a reading, and found that your power animals are such and such…or may have journeyed and met your power animals, or know them in some other way. I may or may not use the animals you have communicated to me. In my experience and knowledge, power animals come and go. Some offer us their energy and wisdom momentarily; others for a lifetime. They stick with us if we honor them, give them attention, and are wonderful powerful allies, companions, and teachers. Power animals are forces of the universe, not spirits of animals. They appear as such, so that we can relate to them easily, and without fear. They have some general, universal characteristics, like the stones, but each is unique—and your relationship with your power animal(s) is individual. So--the interpretive information is to be taken with a grain of salt. Why do I offer it at all? Because people always seem to want it, and it gives them a solid foundation of knowledge to spring from. The information that follows (In the individual interpretation, not here on the website.) may or may not make sense to you. What really matters is whether the necklace feels good to you. Wear it with intention. Use it to dispel negativity, to amplify and keep in touch with your own inner light and strength, and that of your power animals and other spirit helpers—if you are so inclined. Wear it inside your clothing, next to your skin when you feel you need it most. Wear it outside to decorate yourself and for somewhat less intense effects. Cleanse it every day after wearing! (Directions to follow.) Each of the elements, and the necklace as a whole has its own particular energies and is a symbolic reminder of the powers within you. Like ritual and prayer it can function as a tool to make connection between the temporal world and the eternal world/spirit world/strong time/eternity/non-local intelligence/God/Goddess consciousness...whatever your wisdom tradition names it. In Native way, jewelry is most often worn for its energetic properties, rather than adornment. You might try this experiment: Put all of your jewelry in one place, then when you are getting dressed, run a hand over it, or gaze at it gently, and ‘see; which items feel ‘right’, or seem to come forward or ‘pop out’ at you. Wear those item(s) that day, being aware every now and then, whether or not they seem to enhance your well being. Be patient with yourself if it does not work immediately--this is a way to develop your intuition, daily practice yields results that may benefit you beyond jewelry choice. My husband does this every day before he goes to work--sometimes the bolo tie he picks out doesn’t go so well with his shirt--but we are certain it is appropriate for the day! You may find, though this practice, that your totem necklace doesn’t ‘want’ to be worn every day--sometimes not for weeks...then you will notice it again... This is normal. I give a few symbolic meanings and associations--it is up to your inner wisdom to decide which applies to you! All of it, or none of it!
