Information and FAQ on Both BFF and ABBO
Does it Work?
BFF (and later ABBO) was born out of my dissatisfaction with the concentration, price and quality of natural anti-aging face serums and moisturizers for mature skin. Formulated after extensive research and some experimentation, and in consultation with my cousin, who is a pharmacist and knows the chemical aspects. BFF includes most of the top oil-based ingredients that are found in small concentrations in high-end anti-aging products.
BFF contains all active ingredients, no fillers. Contains Omegas, 3, 6, 7, and 9, and anti-oxidents and skin nourishing/balancing/calming/brightening/smoothing oils. It is hand-mixed in small batches to insure quality control and freshness, bottled and sealed under sanitary conditions. Every oil that goes in to BFF and ABBO is either expeller pressed or cold pressed, most are organically grown or responsibly wild sourced. I do not use any oils that have been extracted by use of solvent, hexane or alcohol--or hydraulic extraction-which subjects the oil to intense heat and degrades the quality.
It feels wonderful on the skin, is quickly absorbed, and is simpler to make without the use of synthetic preservatives, additive and fillers.
On myself, friends and relations. No adverse reactions; but everyone's skin really is different. That is why when you read reviews of skincare treatments, some people have great results and others not so much. My cousin, who is a pharmacist and BFF consultant, has been using BFF for several months and swears it is diminishing her vitiligo. (congenital de-pigmentation) Many others love it and use it daily, in all seasons. Will it work for you? I have no idea, and do not make any claims.
Why are BFF and ABBO better than most department store and drugstore products?
Research is proving many of the preservatives, fillers and additives in conventional skincare products are harmful or even carcinogenic. The skin is a permeable barrier, and much of what goes on your skin winds up in the bloodstream.
For more info on cosmetics safety, take a look at http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ Some of the most expensive ($300+ per oz.) anti-aging creams are mineral oil based. Mineral oil is not good for the skin, but is very cheap, so yes-some of those expensive creams seem overpriced. Micronized and/or nanoparticles are in many cosmetics, sunscreens and treatment products--nanoparticles can cross the blood-brain barrier; their safety is largely unknown and untested.

Does not contain:
Anything other than the listed ingredients. The powerful antioxidants in the oils act as preservatives.
BFF: It does have a light fragrance, from the following active ingredients: helichrysum, carrot and rose. It smells natural and like toasty carrot-y rose, and fades quickly. Rose and helicrysum essential oils are used extensively in aromatherapy, so the serum may have some aromatherapy benefits.
ABBO: Also has a light fragrance, due to the addition of neroli, lavender and calendula essential oils. Like the BFF fragrance, it fades quickly and won't interfere with fragrance products. The essential oils have both skincare and aromatherapy benefits.
None! Not FDA tested or approved.

More for your money, some examples:
Comparative example: Sunday Riley's Juno Transformative Lipid Serum (Sephora)
$125. for 1.7 ounces --that is $73.50 per ounce. More than double the BFF price.
SR Juno Ingredients:Watermelon Seed Oil,Camillia Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Black Cumin Seed Oil,Blackberry Seed Oil, Blueberry Seed Oil, Broccoli Seed Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Chardonnay Grape Seed Oil, Cranberry Seed Oil, Pomegranate Oil, and Red Raspberry Seed Oil.
-Or Lina Hanson Global Face Serum(Spirit Beauty Lounge)@ $85.00 per ounce, again more than double the price, and for a smaller number, and less expensive of active ingredients.
-Aromotherapy Associates Anti-Age Fine Line Face Oil (Beauty Habit) @ $71. per 15 ml $142. per ounce)
- Clarins Face Rebalancing Oils (fewer ingredients) $50. per ounce.
-NUDE-ProGenius Treatment Oil, contains many filler oils-apricot seed oil, corn oil, sunflower seed oil which are skin friendly inexpensive and nicely moisturizing fillers. It is preserved with BHT(!) The company advertises all the things they don't use--which is good, but they still use a preservative of dubious safety. $78. per oz.
RODIN Ollio Lusso, again, less expensive ingredients, and the dubious but delicious smelling
"Jasmine Oil"-which is only available as a chemically extracted Absolute, a form used by perfumers, not for skincare, rather than an essential oil. There is no such thing as jasmine essential oil, all jasmine is chemically extracted, due to the nature of the flower. All chemically extracted oils contain residues of solvents; making it a poor choice for skincare in my opinion. $150. per oz.
The ingredients in the examples above are less expensive, and the formulas do not contain rose or helichrysum (two very high priced essential oils) which are highly active skincare and aromatherapy ingredients in BFF. "Lipids" is another name for oil, as "oil" in the context of skin has undesirable (zitty!) associations for some.
