Greetings!
The Walls are Thin

This month is heralding many changes, with shifts in the ways we view the world.

This time of year always brings big shifts energetically, as the world changes seasons.
The Earth Mother offers us wonderful lessons if we open our hearts and minds to them. With fall, we are taught to "let go."

The falling leaves are beautiful to our eyes, providing cascading colors across the landscape. But they can also give us a feeling of loss. That is natural. Think of the trees. They spent all spring and summer channeling so much energy from the ground with their roots and from the sky with their branches in the wind and rain reaching to the sun to create these beautiful leaves. And now, they must be shed.

If the trees were human, they might react in any number of ways: anger, sadness, remorse, nostalgia.... Or grief. Those would be normal reactions to loss of something to which we were attached.

But the trees don't seem to mind. They exalt in the color and pageantry of this season! It is a celebration! A release! A Hosanna of thanksgiving!

In the trees, like many other beings, including the Bears, hear the sigh of Creation in the wind, feel it reverberating from the Earth Mother beneath their feet, smell it, sense it, feel it ... a call from within that it's time to turn within ... to slumber... to dream.

There is great healing here.

So, the leaves drop their leaves in joyous release. The bears gorge themselves with the last of the berries and fruits like persimmons that seem to prolific right now, and they head for a quiet, safe, warm, comfy place to sleep until spring.

The trees are literally going back to their "roots." They go down, down, deep within the earth to find their inner power. All the plants that were so abundance during the summer are now turning brown and bending toward the earth. Their seeds are being buried by the leaves, the browning vegetation, the limbs and branches that no longer serve a purpose, falling to Earth Mother, crumbling to fine dust. The seeds - pure capsules of life - are gravitating toward the core of the Earth Mother, as deeply as they might fall, deeper and deeper, falling, falling... burrowing into her bosom to sleep.

That is the way of Creator. That is the way of the Earth Mother. This is the time to slow down, go within.

There is much change, and it toward dissolution, so that a new thing might emerge in the spring.

It serves no purpose to "hang on," or try to keep change from occurring. Change will happen, is happening. It is the way of things. Just as there is no new thing under the sun, the way of things aborning is old, old, and it requires that first change occur.

So, let go. Be happy. Be the joy, not the sigh. Allow your leaves to shine, and leave! Accept that all things change, for the better! Acknowledge that you are a part of everything and your participation is required, as an integral piece to the shift of the world. And be grateful that you are afforded the opportunity to be alive to witness everything around you during this all too brief Earth Walk. Allow, Accept, Acknowledge and Be Grateful! Aho.

Bear Dance Nov. 15

We're having Bear Dance Saturday, Nov. 15, to put the Bears to Bed.
Each spring at the Full Moon of March, we Awaken the Bears. Each Fall at the Full Moon of November, we put the Bears to sleep. While the Bears slumber, they Dream The World. So, it is important that their Spirits be quiet and allowed to slumber.

It's an all day prayer ceremony.

I am also working with Swarovski crystals, silver and gemstones, in creating

Star Happenings

To reiterate something that was in last month's newsletter, remember that Ian Xel Lungold, my late friend who devised the Mayan Codex, predicted great changes by what will be the 6th Day (Nov. 12, 2008) on the Mayan Calendar. Since the 3rd Day of the galactic cycle (Dec. 14, 2002), the theme of this time has been to reveal the truth of the previous power cycle: dirty deals, secrecy, corruption in government and world institutions. We are in the process of going from a planetary consciousness (nation states) to a galactic one. The galactic consciousness is ethical, how to sustain - ourselves, our world, each other, how to share. Ethics is the deft application of power and we're moving from the raw application of power; what we will learn will reflect the shift from raw power (politics, "might," deals, military domination, scarcity, greed or lack) to ethical use of resources.

These are issues that will want to carry forward with us: going with the Flow of Creation toward these higher ideals, and embodying them.
Although Western society celebrates "Halloween" on Oct. 31, "true" Samhain (or cross quarter of the astrological year) is on Nov. 7. Most indigenous societies count ceremonial occasions by the moon, either new moon or full moon. The New Moon of the "cross quarter" was in Scorpio on October 28.

According to Allison Rae:

The Halloween season opens with the Scorpio New Moon. Ruled by Pluto, Scorpio deals with power and the underworld. Mars is also shapeshifting his way through the sign of the scorpion and trines Uranus, making this Dark Moon especially magical and shamanic. Eagle and Phoenix are alternate symbols of this sign and hint at the transformative potential of this gateway. The Eagle mediates between worlds. The Phoenix rises from the ashes of its former self. What are you ready to release? Who else would you like to be? What kind of world are you creating? ... This year the opposition of Saturn and Uranus forms a tense t-square with Pluto near the degree of the Galactic Center. Structures and forms are ripe for destruction. Sudden, unexpected changes continue, shattering the reality we've known and clearing the way for a higher expression.

It brought tears to my eyes.
